What did you eat in Gyeongju or Jeonju as a Muslim?

We are planning 9 days in Korea in October and my husband really wants to add Gyeongju and Jeonju, not only Seoul. I am a bit worried because almost every halal restaurant list I find covers Seoul and Busan only. For those who went to the smaller cities, what did you actually eat there - market snacks, seafood, temple food? Also is it okay to ask the ajumma at a market stall whether there is pork or meat broth inside, or is that considered rude?
